1) PhD “Musical Metaverse” at CIMIL – University of Trento
Main place of work: Trento (Italy)
Description: The PhD will focus on the design, implementation and evaluation of Metaverse systems for musical applications.
Required skills:
- M.Sc. degree in computer science, electronics, mathematics, physics, or related fields
- programming in Unity 3D
- sufficient music knowledge (e.g., proven experience in playing a musical instrument)
- excellent English skills (read, written, and spoken)
- strong self-motivation and independence
Desirable but not strictly necessary skills:
- human-computer interaction

2) Industrial PhD “Real-time acoustic scene analysis for haptic synthesis in gaming” at company GoTouchVR
Main place of work: Lille (France)
The PhD will be supervised by the team members of GoTouchVR as well as by researchers of the Creative, Intelligent & Multisensory Interactions Laboratory of University of Trento https://www.cimil.disi.unitn.it/
Description: The PhD will focus on the implementation of parametric algorithms extracting haptics effects from the audio track of existing videogames. A semantic analysis will be conducted on the audio track in real-time and the extracted information will be used to control the synthesis of haptic effects.
Required skills:
